Hi, I’m James from the UK. I grew up in a small town in England called Bakewell. It’s a beautiful place in a national park.

After university, I taught English in China for a year before coming to Japan in the year 2000. I have been an instructor at Expert English since we opened in 2008. I really enjoy teaching, and love seeing students improve and reach their goals.

In my free time, I enjoy watching football. I’ve been watching my favourite team, Chesterfield F.C, since I was little, but I also watch plenty of Premier League games. I’ve also seen quite a lot of J-League matches here in Japan. Travelling is another thing I love, both in Japan and overseas.

I enjoy chatting about these things and much more – perhaps we could talk about them in one of our Free Talk lessons some time!

Hi there! I'm Daniel. I grew up in Auckland, New Zealand but have lived in Japan for most of my adult life.

I have been teaching in Japan since 1998 and have been working at Expert English since we opened in 2008. I really enjoy teaching and love seeing students develop their skills and be able to express themselves freely in English.

I have lived in Soka for around twenty years now and enjoy the lifestyle here. I spend a lot of my free time playing board games, jogging, painting and watching movies. I grew up playing rugby and basketball and love watching both.

I really enjoy chatting with students and learning about Japan and Japanese culture. I hope to see you at the school some time soon.
